Remember Simon in Top20? He was the first one to perform before Shila. Yeah he didn’t seem to have performed well on that day, all because he didn’t use his guitar. But believe me, everyone who made it to the top 20 has their own uniqueness.

Just a lil’ bit on our history;

Well, Simon and I are actually close friends and we’ve been singing partners for 2 years. One thing that I always look up to him is his determination in music. He once told me that if he were to choose anything else and music, he would rather live and die with music.

And recently, he’s been working on his own music, producing his own album. Somehow Someday is one of the singles which I worked with him, produced and arranged by Pascal, a Swiss producer currently residing in Penang.

Well, it was actually a solo single, but later on we came up with an idea to do a duet. Pascal thought it was a good idea too and under his strict supervision we managed to came out with a piece that satisfies his tastes. Thank you Pascal

Consider to have one of my first demo up, I’m satisfied with it as it gave me the opportunity to show my vocals, totally my style and my brand. Pascal told me that the Europe market has a demand for this kind of vocals.

Yeah, you guys are the ones that make me a someone in music. I love to create a brand of myself on stage and i always wanted to make guitar the main instrument in my music. Well, i do more of unplugged acoustic music back in where i stay, and i found out that my strength is actually not on power vocals, but on soft vocals.

Never could i be compared to power vocals, but rather, the feedback i got from people and audiences are actually my soft vocals that attracts people to keep on listening.

Like the HK singer Janice? People commented that i actually have similar voice qualities like hers. Actually, I can sing in Cantonese, English and a lil’ bit of Mandarin. Yeah, in Mandarin, sometimes you can hear the ‘banana’ side of me, but it’s still something different rite? :p LOL

Prior to that, I’m actually with a band called SAND, and it’s based in Penang. Well, we do have a few albums out in English, and just recently, this month, we released a Hokkien/Mandarin album called “Hope”.

Gee…Hokkien/Mandarin, I never thought my first singles would be sung in Mandarin, haha. Yup, someone else did the Hokkien part Anyways, if you wanna checkout our band, look out for this website: www.sand.com.my . I think the new album will be updated soon in the site. I’ll post the album cover when it’s out.

 I hope i’d be able to do a remake of all the songs i sang in OIAM into a demo and possibly a few songs written by myself. And if it could interests any labels or so, I might have the chance to engage myself with an album production. phew~ hope this works :) 

Yeah, i know it’s not easy here in M’sia, but who knows? If we try, there’s a chance and there’s hope. But if we even forget about trying, we have already killed the chance, and the hope. No harm trying, rite?

Honestly, seeing supporters at the floor does make a lot of difference. It actually revives the confidence that was thought lost before the 9.30pm and we stand up there and sing.

Well, when Marion mentioned my name, I’ve got nothing in my head but sadness. Not sad because i was voted out, sad because i will be dissapointing a lot people out there especially my loved ones. I sang Fly me to the Moon, with tears storing up in my eyes. I tried hard to hold on, and i was shaky throughout the whole song.

It’s hard to hold on to the emotions of the song in such circumstances, but i know i must give my one last time the best that i could give to all of you guys out there.

Besides my dad, I can see the dissapointment in my bro’s eyes. Well, he didn’t say it, but i could sense it. My no.1 supporter other than my dad. My parents couldn’t make it every week to the comp though, and he was like representing them.

I owe him too. I didn’t give anything good to him, all i could do is to help him out to pay for stuffs when he needs it. But i’m happy he’s grown and changed ever since he left for KL. People do grow up, and he’s not the stubborn, hard up kid i knew when we had our kid-dish, childish times together. Yeah, all we did was fight, n we seldom have good times together. I guess distance apart makes relationships better. Now he’s learn to be helpful and supportive.

Yup, that’s my bro~ way to go, keep it up, and you’ll be a grown up good man. I’m proud to have a bro like you. Don’t fail me now, i don’t wanna get into any unreasonable fight with you. And don’t hang your head too high when you see this; we must learn to be humble.  For pride does kill yourself. Put God first, and everything will fall into place.

Family is a very important thing in life, so don’t neglect them guys.

Thank God for my family, and i thank God for yours too.

well, for some reason i’m not sad, the fact that i prepared myself so much earlier on that any week could be the last week. Not that i do not have confidence, but it’s up to Malaysia to determine my fate. N besides, we’re competing with the best of the best!

To be the 7th best? I’m more than happy..i’m happy that Malaysia likes me, n the fact that i’ve made it thru top12, i’ve given thanks to God.

When the time the results were announced, i was ok. But then after a while, i feel my eyes couldn’t hold it much longer but warm tears couldn’t wait to flow out. Oh, how i’ve tried my best to hold it all together.

Was i sad? Yes i was. I’m not sad because i’m chosen to be out of the competition, but I was sad because i know my mom n dad, family, friends n my supporters will be dissapointed that i couldn’t go further.

N most importantly, my dad. He was my no.1 supporter. He was the best advisor, motivator and godly father all through the time of my competition. He was the most excited one everytime the show is on. He watch all of the programmes that i was in. He calls me everyday n time to make sure that i’m ok n i’m prepared for the upcoming challenge. N I’m sure he will be the first one to be sad when i don’t advance to the next round.

If you ask me, I have nothing to regret. Maybe i have missed a lot of things around me, but to me, being in this competition is a lot more meaningful, n i’ve learned seriously lotsa things from here. If have the chance to turn back time? I will never change my mind of joining this competition.

Well, this is not the last of me. I love music, n it is always my passion. Passion is like addiction. Once you got into it, it will always be in you n it will never be out of you till the day you die.

I will always be singing, n hopefully i can have my own album in the future. Singing till the day i do not have the energy to. I believe God had a plan for me. N i know all will be good when i surrender everything that He has given me back to Him. He created me to have this talent and the passion, I’m sure He has a plan ahead for me. Show me the way, n I will follow. Through all good n bad times, i will praise Him for His goodness.

I’d say it a thousand times, thank you, thank you n i thank you to all of you out there who supported me! God has blessed me so much with all of you out there. You will not be seeing the last of me!

N to Kelly..yeah i can sing Chinese. In fact i was in the top16 of Astro Talent Quest last year. U see Crystal n the rest of the cast in Wah Lai Toi every Sat 7pm? They’re my buddies

But the roadshow in Penang was great! I had so much fun back there, n my friends and family came all to support me! So touched~ :`) I had a chance to stayback in Penang for the weekend n my aunt made a very nice, scrumptuous dinner with all my fav dishes! awww, she’s soo sweet……

I came back to our hotel yesterday nite and it’s back to reality again. I’mma have to work harder on my songs…

This week i would be bringing something very different. It’s a song called Fly me to the Moon @ Yue Liang dai biao wo de xin. It’s gonna be an all new combination of mandarin n english song. I believe ppl in Malaysia knows this song; not only the chinese, but i believe all others knows who is Teresa Teng and Siti Nurhaliza did this song before.

After the what i had from the judges, i know i have to work even harder, n i cannot just be hangin there doing the same’ol stuff. I’m not just a person who only knows how to play with the guitar, i’m able to do something else like arranging songs my own version. It’s a never before heard ’single’ from me, n i hope it turns up well.

 I just want u guys to know, that no matter how discouraging it is for me, i know that i have hope from all of u out there who has been with me all this while, believing n having faith in me. Your support n faith in me is my greatest motivation to keep going.

It’s really unpredictable; it might be me, it might be the others, we’ll never know until the time comes..

cut that, it’s been like that ever since top12! n we’ll always treat each week as our final performance.

N this week, i’m gonna bring “Somewhere over the Rainbow”. Well, if i have the opportunity to sing this song, it means that there’s still hope.

My past weekend n the few days, it was as if it’s raining heavily everyday n i was clouded by darkness. As days go by, i began to see God’s grace as i draw closer to Him. In the end, i will also leave it all to Him. I surrender my all to God n let Him use me for His purposes.

For whatever happens, He still deserves our greatest praise. God’s made the rainbow after the rain, n when i see the rainbow, i know there is hope n it’s a beginning of a new day that the Lord has made.

 It’s a very meaningful song to me, n I hope i could connect it to the hearts of everyone out there.

 It’s my first time dropping by here, n i wish i could update it every day, every moment, every time…

First up, a big thank you to my family, friends n supporters who’ve seen me n still seeing me thru the whole journey of this competition. I could not do it without your support during my times of ups n downs. I thank the Lord for bringing all of you to me.

At the top8 show..

I did not do it well. What i thought, it was a total missed compared to the past few weeks.. =(

I was very depressed over the weekend, and when mom n dad, Aunt Maggie n Shan and grandma called me up, i couldn’t help but to let tears rolled down my cheeks. I’m so touched despite everyone else will be well commenting or even condemning, they are the ones that still see hope in me, n giving me hope.

Well, the bad times have past. I must not dawn on it, but learn from my mistakes and move on.

I hope Malaysia will give me a chance to redeem myself n i will do my best to not let all my family, friends and supporters down..I love you all.
